What does D/s or SSC mean?
D/s stands for Dominant/submissive, a power exchange that both people choose and can renegotiate. SSC stands for safe, sane and consensual, a long-standing consent standard in the community. The glossary explains many more terms.

Is it free to join?
Yes. A Classic account is free and lets you build a profile, browse members, get daily match suggestions and send a limited number of messages a day. VIP and VIP+ are paid memberships. See the pricing page for the details.
How do I meet BDSM people online for free?
Create a free Classic account, fill in your profile properly, check your daily matches and start conversations. Free members can send a limited number of messages a day and can always read and reply to messages from VIP and VIP+ members.
Do I need to verify my ID to join?
No. ID verification, video verification and team validation are all optional. Age is estimated automatically, with further checks where the law requires them. Not every member is verified, so treat a badge as one signal and keep using your own judgement.
How much do VIP and VIP+ cost?
Prices are in Australian dollars. On the 12 month plan VIP works out at A$5.99 a week (A$312.34 paid once) and VIP+ at A$7.99 a week (A$416.62 paid once). Shorter plans are listed on the pricing page.
Can I cancel any time, and is the charge discreet?
Yes to both. The 1 week, 1 month, 3 month and 6 month plans renew automatically until you cancel, and the 12 month plan is paid once and does not renew. The charge appears on your bank statement under a neutral name.
Safety and privacy
Is BDSMRooting safe?
The platform runs protections such as optional ID and video verification, blocking and reporting, screening of images, videos and text on upload, and a support team available 24/7. No site can remove all risk, so use your own judgement. The safety page lists them all.
Will other members see my real name?
Your real name and email are not shown publicly. Other members see your nearest town or city, not your address or live location.
How do I block or report someone?
You can block a member straight away, and once blocked they can no longer contact or see you. You can report people or content from inside the platform. If you are in immediate danger, call 000.

What is a munch and what happens there?
A munch is a casual social meet-up for people in the BDSM community, held in a public place such as a pub or cafe. There is no play at a munch. It is a place to talk and see whether a community suits you.
Does BDSMRooting list events, clubs or venues?
No. BDSMRooting is a dating and community platform, not an events listing. Our city guides describe each scene in general terms, and events and venues change, so check current listings before you go anywhere.
How should I arrange a first meeting?
Talk first and agree what you both want, your limits and a safeword. Choose a busy public place, tell a friend where you are going and decide how you will get home. You can stop and leave at any point.
Can I use BDSMRooting on my phone?
Yes. It works in your phone's browser, and you can install it on your home screen. Native iPhone and Android apps are available in selected markets, so check your app store.
